"Readioo creates a playful path to knowledge" - Vivvi, Dibber Love preschool

In Dibber's business, the children's self-esteem and self-confidence are the focus, where an important component to becoming a self-confident individual is access to a rich language. Through various initiatives, Dibber works actively to develop the children's language and communication skills. One of these efforts is to use Readioo, which gives the children the opportunity to interact with the language in an engaging and stimulating way.

Language development with Readioo at Förskolan Love

At Dibber's preschool Love in Sollentuna, I got an insight into how Readioo is used in practice. Department manager Vivvi received me and told me enthusiastically: "The children are so fond of the reading pen! We introduced it just a few weeks ago and it immediately became a huge favourite. We are so pleased! It creates a playful path to knowledge.”

Free play was on the schedule and the children were scattered in different parts of the room. In the reading corner sat a few children engrossed in Readioo. They tapped words, repeated them aloud to each other, and then gave a high-five. Vivvi talked about how the reading pen has become a valuable tool for a child who recently moved to Sweden: "She often goes here to the reading corner and uses the reading pen. For her, the pen is a safe start in language development.”

Readioo has been introduced in all departments at the preschool. Younger children use the pen to build vocabulary by listening and repeating single words. Older children like to hear whole stories, which complements the usual reading aloud. With Readioo, children can now have books read to them when they want and as often as they want, making book reading more accessible . "We also have several children who receive support from a speech therapist, and for them the reading pen is extra valuable. It gives them an opportunity to discover the language on their own terms," says Vivvi.

In addition to this, Readioo's reading pen can be used in several creative ways:

  • As a supplement during the read-aloud moments: With the help of sounds and music from the pen, the children can hear the dog barking or the guitar playing - a playful way to make the stories even more alive.
  • For continued reading at home: By lending the reading pen and books, the children can continue their learning at home - especially valuable for those who need extra support or have a different home language.

Now it was time for mellis and I thanked myself. Completely warm in my body, I waved goodbye to Vivvi and the happy children. Proud that Readioo has created something that makes a real difference to children's language development.
